Eye on the city - city walking map

Already two editions of the #OkoNaMiasto city walks have prompted us to take another action in this matter. Here we are giving you three city walkimg maps, thanks to which you will be able to go hiking around our Rzeszów on your own!

From the very beginning, when organizing city walks, we were guided by a broader idea, which was to provide you with ideas for a pleasant time in the city in the form of, well, thematic city walks. Each walk was supposed to be an excuse to encourage you to engage in this type of activity. At the same time, city walks in the #OkoNaMiasto series are the implementation of the statutory mission by Rzeszowskie Piwnice, which is to popularize knowledge about Rzeszów, the history of the city, the people living here, the events taking place here and curiosities, in a maximally interdisciplinary approach. These three interactive  city walking  maps, which we are giving you here free of charge, are a derivative of the 2nd edition of the #OkoNaMiasto city walks carried out from May to October 2023. What's more, these walks took place and were quite popular. This was an impetus for us to publish these topics of walks in the form of city walking maps that can be downloaded to phones or other media.

The first city walking map entitled "Rzeszów by Franciszek Kotula", which took place on 2nd May 2023, was also the inauguration of this year's edition of the #OkoNaMiasto walks, it referred to the 40th anniversary of the death of Franciszek Kotula, which fell in spring this year, but above all to the legendary book "Rzeszów by Franciszek Kotula" . This publication was our guide to Rzeszów, and at the same time an excuse to visit places known to almost every resident of our city, but influenced by Kotula's story-telling style. The author of the this publication is Jakub Pawłowski.

The second city walking map entitled "Rzeszów modern archiecture", which is a derivative of two walks on 20th July and 17th August 2023, was intended to appeal not only to the lovers of the modernist style, which has many admirers in Rzeszów, but also to the fans of the architecture and history of Rzeszów in general, the interwar period and the issues of the Central Industrial District. This thematic trend is also followed by this walker. The author of the publication is Karolina Chomiczewska.

The third city walking map entitled "10 places - 10 photos - countless stories" is a fragment of the ongoing walk through the streets of Rzeszów on 4th July 2023. It is intended to be a fairly wide passage through the streets and nooks and crannies of the city, and the main motif of the walk and the walker are places, photos and a number of accompanying different kinds of stories. These are well-known, frequently visited places, but the guide includes a selection of archival photographs or iconography that is intended to make the recipient aware of how these places, and therefore the city, have changed over many generations. The author of the publication is Jakub Pawłowski.
